PEORIA, Ariz. — Harrison Kreiling’s long road back reached an important milestone Friday night.

Fifteen months after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2025, the Mariners right-hander made his first professional start, tossing two scoreless innings before Dylan Wilson delivered five dominant frames in relief to lead the ACL Mariners to a 1-0 victory over the ACL Padres at the Peoria Sports Complex.

The win improved Seattle to 30-20, snapping a two-game skid behind a combined three-hit shutout.

Kreiling showed little sign of rust in his professional debut. The 24-year-old allowed just one hit while striking out three without issuing a walk over two scoreless innings.

After Edsson Martinez doubled to open the game, Kreiling calmly retired the next three hitters to escape the inning before striking out the side in the second.

Wilson took over in the third and was even more dominant.

The right-hander scattered two hits across five scoreless innings, struck out eight, walked one and repeatedly pitched out of trouble as the Padres finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Together, Kreiling and Wilson combined to allow just three hits while striking out 11 in one of the Mariners’ best pitching performances of the season.

The offense needed only one timely swing.

Leo Rivas drew a one-out walk in the third before stealing second base. Two batters later, Yorger Bautista lined a two-out RBI single into right field, scoring Rivas with what proved to be the game’s only run.

Bautista finished 2-for-3 and drove in his 39th RBI of the season, while Diego Contreras accounted for Seattle’s only extra-base hit with a second-inning double.

The Mariners threatened to add insurance throughout the night but stranded five runners and finished 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position.

It didn’t matter.

Wilson retired six of the final seven batters he faced to preserve the shutout and earn his second victory of the season.

The Mariners will try to build on Friday’s win Saturday when they host the ACL Dodgers at the Peoria Sports Complex, looking to avenge Thursday’s 6-5 loss at Camelback Ranch.
