The Mariners’ offense erupted for its highest run total since May 3, drawing 12 walks and capitalizing on a patient approach at the plate to roll past the Rangers on Wednesday night.

Mariners opened the scoring in the second inning after Kelvin Alcantara worked a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Two batters later, Brayden Corn delivered a two-out RBI single to put the Mariners ahead 1-0. Texas answered in the bottom half when Manni Ramirez launched a solo home run to even the score.

The Mariners reclaimed the lead in the third thanks to a pair of long balls. Nick Becker led off the inning with a home run to right-center field before Texas native Dalton Davis added a two-out blast later in the frame, extending Seattle’s advantage to 3-1.

The Rangers responded in the bottom of the third with consecutive doubles from Elorky Rodriguez and Seong-Jun Kim, trimming the deficit to one run.

The Mariners disciplined offensive approach paid off again in the fourth inning. Four walks, a hit batter, and two wild pitches helped produce two runs as Konni Durschlag and Corn crossed the plate to push the lead to 5-2.

The game broke open in the fifth. The Mariners sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven runs, fueled by more free passes and timely hitting. Yorger Bautista capped the rally with a two-run single before Alcantara lined a two-out RBI double to extend the advantage.

Diego Contreras added the finishing touch in the sixth inning, crushing a two-run home run—his second of the season—to further pad Seattle’s lead.

On the mound, Mariners pitchers combined to allow eight hits and three earned runs while striking out six and issuing just one walk.

Starter Juan Cazarez escaped early trouble in the first inning after allowing back-to-back singles and a walk to load the bases. The right-hander induced a 5-4-3 double play before retiring Noah Franklin on a groundout to keep Texas off the scoreboard.

Connor Wilford earned his first victory of the season with another impressive relief appearance. The Washington State product retired the first six batters he faced, striking out two, and recorded outs against nine of the 11 hitters he faced overall.

Angel Chicuate closed out the victory with a perfect 1-2-3 inning.

With the win, the Mariners have claimed four of their last five games, including victories over the Arizona Complex League-leading Rockies and Royals. Seattle now sits just a half-game behind the Angels for the league’s fourth playoff spot, setting up a pivotal matchup between the two clubs on June 19 in Peoria.
