PEORIA, Ariz. (July 11, 2026) — The ACL Mariners (31-20) bounced back from Thursday’s loss by defeating the ACL Dodgers (20-31), 5-3, Saturday afternoon at the Peoria Sports Complex. Diego Contreras collected two hits and drove in two runs, while Roberto Perez earned his second victory of the season after allowing three runs over five innings. Ruben Ramirez, Cristian Aray and Francisco Pazos combined for two scoreless innings of relief to secure the win.

With the ACL Royals falling 7-6 to the ACL Reds on Saturday, the Mariners moved back into a tie for first place in the ACL West.

Seattle wasted little time getting on the board in the first inning. Diego Contreras opened the frame with a double before Yorger Bautista singled to put runners on the corners. Dalton Davis drove in the game’s first run with a force out, and Bautista later scored when second baseman Daniel Mielcarek’s throwing error allowed Kelvin Alcantara to reach safely, giving the Mariners an early 2-0 lead.

The Dodgers answered in the third inning. Bryan Gonzalez Garcia doubled before RBI singles from Leider Padilla and Euri Rosa tied the game. A sacrifice fly by Aidan West gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.

The Mariners responded immediately in the bottom half. Bautista walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch before Leandro Romero doubled to center field, tying the game at three. Two batters later, Romero scored when Brayden Corn reached on a throwing error by Dodgers shortstop Aidan West, putting Seattle back in front, 4-3.

Seattle added an insurance run in the sixth. Alcantara singled before Corn and Bryant Mendez each worked walks to load the bases. Contreras drove in Alcantara with a groundout, extending the Mariners’ lead to 5-3.

Perez settled in after the third inning, retiring six of the final seven batters he faced to complete five innings. Ramirez struck out two in two-thirds of a scoreless sixth before Aray recorded the final out of the inning.

Pazos worked the seventh inning for his first save of the season. After issuing a one-out walk, he induced a game-ending double play to secure the Mariners’ victory.

Contreras finished 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Bautista reached base twice, scored two runs and added a hit, while Romero doubled, drove in a run and scored. Alcantara also crossed the plate twice as Seattle capitalized on five hits and two Dodgers errors.

The Mariners travel to Goodyear Ballpark Complex on Monday, July 13, for a single game against the ACL Guardians. Seattle defeated the Guardians, 5-0, in the clubs’ previous meeting earlier this season.
